It reads your text and measures patterns, then compares them to what machine writing usually looks like. The main signals are predictability (called perplexity) and sentence-length variance (burstiness), plus repeated phrases and structure. It never sees who typed the words. It only judges the text itself, then reports a score or a label based on how machine-like those patterns seem.
